Hydrogen test benches
Hydrogen combustion test benches
Hydrogen combustion test benches
Up to 550 kW | Up to 1,200 Nm | 35 kg/h to 180 bar
On our hydrogen test benches, we employ our long-standing, group-wide expertise and compliance with stringent safety measures to tackle new areas of application for hydrogen technologies. Our services stand for utmost quality and comprise the application for hydrogen internal-combustion engines including emission measurements, the provision of an innovative engine quick exchange system, as well as professional consulting.
Fuel cell test benches
Fuel cell test benches
up to 236 kW | Conditioning -40 °C to +80 °C
With the fuel cell test benches, we are entering a new and very interesting area of mobility by setting up complete fuel cell systems. Our Bosch know-how provides the customer with the best possible quality. We offer the design, application and integration of complete fuel cell systems into vehicles, taking into account the relevant safety precautions.
NVH chassis dynamometer
NVH chassis dynanometer
Four independent electronic motors | Emission measurement
With our NVH chassis dynamometer we can analyze emissions and conduct tests regarding „Noise, Vibration and Harshness“. The dynamometer is suitable for all drive train technologies, especially for hydrogen powertrains which will gain significance in the future. The four independent electric motors allow the simulation of different dynamic driving conditions, such as cornering simulation and active drive torque distribution.
We check compliance with legal requirements such as EU7 and offer the possibility of homologation in cooperation with external technical services. With our climate emissions chassis dynamometer, we can test all types of powertrains in a wide range of temperature conditions. This allows for start-up and warm-up adjustments as well as temperature control of the vehicle and vehicle components.
between ±35 °C | exhaust gas extraction | charging options for electric and hybrid vehicles
Our climate chambers enable efficient temperature measurements of the vehicle and its components, as well as exhaust gas extraction to measure the vehicle's cold start performance. Temperatures between ±35°C for vehicle conditioning can be variably adjusted according to customer requirements. Another special feature is the ability to charge electric vehicles with either direct or alternating current.
Performance test bench
Performance chassis dynamometer
Up to 310 km/h | 1 MW cooling performance | Charging facilities for electric and hybrid vehicles
Our high-performance air fan enables measurements at very high speeds of up to 310 km/h. Thanks to our driving robots, even complex scenarios such as endurance tests can be completed reliably and without safety risks. We can also determine ranges for electric vehicles. In addition, we offer charging facilities for electric and hybrid vehicles (with direct or alternating current) as well as an in-house gas station, also for special fuels.
The unique feature of our test bench is the background noise of 10 dB(A). The four independent electric motors allow the simulation of different dynamic driving conditions, such as cornering simulation and active drive torque distribution. The dynamometer is suitable for all drive train technologies. This allows us to perform emission measurements for any powertrains, whether electric, hydrogen as well as internal combustion engines. In addition, vibration and acoustic optimization for automotive and non-automotive applications can be performed to the highest quality.
We are ready for the current and upcoming technical developments. On our electric motor test benches, we offer you comprehensive possibilities for the development, testing and release of electric drive systems with up to 650 kW | 1600 Nm | 27200 rpm.
We plan, engineer, and conduct your e-axle tests with up to 500 kW, 8,000 Nm, and 3,000 revolutions per minute. You also benefit from our expertise and individual consulting services.
Our inverter test bench completes our offer in the area of "electrical test benches". Here we offer you the possibility to test your power electronics by emulation even without real e-machine.
1,500 V | Media conditioning | Use of real or simulated high-voltage batteries
Our integration and communication test bench (ICT) supports the integration and establishment of communication between high-voltage components and HV modules. This includes, for example, the high-voltage battery, the inverter, the electric power steering, as well as the electric motor or the e-axle. By defining the system connectivity at a very early stage, we can successfully shorten the engineering period and time-to-market. This saves prototypes and enables initial trials or troubleshooting without the need for road tests.
With our engine test benches, we offer the integration of components in combustion engines and electric motors. Due to our many years of experience, we offer a very high level of quality in adjusting and optimizing engines to customer-specific requirements. Our innovative engine quick exchange system guarantees the efficiency of the test procedure. In addition, we offer qualified consultation regarding technical details and legal framework.
Test services
EU type approval of motor vehicles
EU type approval of motor vehicles
Engine power | emissions and OBD | fuel / energy consumption | range
As an independent technical service designated by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt – KBA) we carry out official EU type approvals within the powertrain area either in our own ISO 17020/17025 certified test facilities or at your site.
We support you throughout the entire certification process: from the initial assessment by the KBA, through the performance of all relevant measurements, to the preparation of the test report and the issuance of the certificate by the authorities.
At your request we carry out the legally required tests for the Conformity of Production (CoP) measurements after series production within the framework of the KBA tender model.
We offer RDE measurements to verify emissions compliance under real-world driving conditions. Data is collected and processed according to homologation requirements, reducing development time. Upon request, RDE road profiles can be customized to cover a wide range of driving and traffic situations. Thanks to our mobile climate truck, we can also test at high elevations and engine cold starts. Based on the RDE results, the emission measurements on the chassis dynamometer are verified. On this basis, developmental steps can be adapted and evaluated.
